‘Snyderverse’ To Continue as Comic?

In the past few days we have seen official word from Warner execs saying that the investment in Snyder’s Justice League is nothing more than a one and done thing. Though Wonder Woman has a third film coming down the line, and Aquaman has an anticipated sequel in the works as well, there is no other sign of Snyder’s DCEU continuing. Yes, Ezra Miller’s Flash will be getting a solo movie but this is a unique case. We know that his film will adapt the famous Flashpoint to some degree, but it ultimately will achieve the same purpose as the iconic book; restart the DC film universe. Earlier today Ray Fisher has voiced his intention to no longer return to the DC film universe so long as the current executives at the studio remain in place. This leaves Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. For Cavill, his fate is very much up in the air- no pun intended. JJ Abrams will be taking on the next Superman project but he has yet to confirm …

8 Wonder Woman Art Pieces For Inspiration

With the recent release of “Wonder Woman 1984” we wanted to showcase some of our favorite art pieces inspired by one of our favorite DC heroines, Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman. Created by famous psychologist William Moulton Marston and artist Harry G. Peter, Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in 1941, Sensation Comics #1, and Wonder Woman #1 in 1942. She is an icon throughout the world and easily recognized with her red bodice with gold eagle, blue shorts covered in white stars, gold bracelets, gold tiara, and gold lasso. Below are some art pieces from artists around the world to inspire, just as Diana has inspired us for decades. If you have work or know of anyone that has work and would like to be showcased in a future article, let us know in the comments!

What Can We Expect From ‘Wonder Woman 3’?

Yes, WW84 is barely a day old and we’re shifting attention to the sequel; it is what it is! Funny enough we’re not the only ones quickly looking ahead. Warner has already green lit the third installment to the series with Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins on board. This comes as surprising news considering the busy schedule Jenkins will have in the next couple of years (Rogue Squadron and Cleopatra). Though the movie is confirmed we do not have a planned release date yet. So, with everything going ful lspeed ahead, what do we want from a third film? Circe: This is GOING to be the villain. I am willing to put money on this right now. We have seen Ares, Doctor Poison, Maxwell Lord and Cheetah… The last big name baddie for Wonder Woman is Circe and I’m hoping we get her. Though as this is going to be the third installment I have no doubt it will be the biggest. So… Cheetah: Circe is magic. Barbara never renounced her initial wish that …

DCEU Movies Ranked

With the release of WW84 it felt only appropriate to rank all nine DCEU movies. Now, there is no error with the list below, Joker was intentionally omitted as it does not appear to be connected to the larger interconnected universe; at least not yet, right Flashpoint? 9. Josstice League: Look, it’s just not the movie that the creative intended to make. When I first saw Justice League in theaters after seeing the reviews I looked to like it. In some ways I was able to! Though when I went back to see BvS some time later I was baffled at just how different the tone of this movie is compared to what Zack had created prior. Hopefully the Snyder Cut can score higher on the list when it officially replaces this verson. 8. Suicide Squad: Yet another project tampered with by the studio…I don’t completely hate this movie. It had some good elements where the cast is the biggest one. I loved what we saw for Harley and Joker, Smith as Deadshot was great, …

‘WW84’ Mixed Reviews; Where Does She Go From Here?

As of this morning Wonder Woman 1984 stands ay 67% on Rotten Tomatoes; a considerable decrease compared to its predecessor. As my review shows- I and recognize some of the very obvious issues it has, but I still enjoyed it! Aside from the problems of the movie my thoughts have gone towards the future. It’s ironic that the character that saved the DCEU after rough performances from Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman could now finds herself in an awkward position. Jenkins’ Schedule: As of right now Patty Jenkins has some other projects on the calendar that will be priority over any potential Wonder Woman 3. Those movies are Cleopatra, which will also star Gal Gadot, and the recently announced Rogue Squadron for Disney. These commitments could make it likely that a Wonder Woman 3 might not hit theaters for another 3-4 years! The question becomes is that a wait the studio is going to be willing to commit to, especially if this film does indeed fall below the 60% line. Worst case scenario, these …

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ (SPOILER) Review

Let’s get into it. THE GOOD 80’s: The movie is not just set in the 80’s but a good deal of it (especially the beginning) feel like you’re watching a traditional 80’s movie. Seeing Washington DC alive in 1984, with random shadows of Wonder Woman doing heroic things, felt like a wonderful tip of the hat to the decade’s style of films. Many things recently have been period heavy, especially within the 80s, so I was worried it might be a tired movie from the beginning; gladly, it wasn’t the case. The time period served as a fine backdrop and even allowed for an aestethic that almost felt like a recreation of Linda Carter’s era as the titular character. The movie is a 180 from the first and that is fine! It sought to create its own style and feel and it pulled it off really nicely. Kristen Wiig: I am always nervous when comedians make the switch over to drama. Wiig proves yet again she’s a powerhouse of talent. She opens the film as …

Cheetah and the DCEU (SPOILERS)

I just finished streaming Wonder Woman 1984 on HBOMax and I want to waste no time diving into it. Now, my actual review will be up in a bit, but I wanted to first tackle one of my biggest questions going into this; what could we expect for Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah going forward? Barbara finally made her transformation into the iconic Wonder Woman villain for the third act of the film. Personally, I feel the CGI work was a bit choppy and it relied heavily on the lighting of the scene to cover that up, but I digress. I think Wiig did a great job with the character across the board. For what few still shots we had of her in full Cheetah I think it looked nice, badass, and worthy of the role. As she and Diana faced off (in the dark) I wasn’t rooting for Cheetah to win, but I was PRAYING for her not to die. Cheetah is like Wonder Woman’s Joker. Aquaman’s Black Manta; Superman’s Luthor! You get my point. The …

‘Wonder Woman’ Review

We are just three days away from the release of the highly anticipated Wonder Woman 1984. The film will premiere both in theaters and on HBOMax for streaming starting this friday at 12:00 pm EST; I can’t wait! In anticipation for the film I wanted to review the first Wonder Woman film, also directed by the brilliant Patty Jenkins and released in 2017. THE GOOD Gal Gadot: I must confess that back in 2013 when her casting was announced I was very much a hater. I didn’t see her as Wonder Woman! Even when she made her debut in Batman v Superman I had my doubts. Her performance in this first solo film as the character though had me eating my words. In this movie Gadot got to play a much more naive version of the heroine who had not yet known what the world of mankind was like. She was able to bring that version of Diana to life without it coming off ditzy, dumb, or annoying. Her innocence was genuine and despite her …

LGBT Superheroes

Oh let’s keep the pride going! Today, instead of a movie review, let’s talk about some of the best, and the “are you kidding me?”, of LGBT representation in the superhero genre. Now, for those who love themselves a good comic book movie, you will notice the number of gay representation is virtually zero! However, in the comic world, as  you can see in the image above, the representation is on point. You’ll be surprised to find out many of these characters have actually appeared in movies and television! Yet, as usual, that element of their identity remains in the closet at the Hall of Justice. Let’s take a look at some! Wonder Woman: That’s right. The princess of Themyscira and daugther of Hippolyta isbisexual by canon! Did you know that? Probably not since it’s never been addressed in an animated series, animated film, live-action film, or live-action series! The closest thing we got to this tidbit was in the successful 2017 film where Diana and Steve Trevor lay in a boat and talk about …

Hawkman and Hawkgirl Set to Appear in ‘WW84’?

This is breaking news! At least, I think it is? Anyway, as I was randomly looking for upcoming movies and television shows to keep an eye on, I randomly stumbled upon something interesting in the cast page for Wonder Woman 1984! Not only are Sam Worthington and Alicia Vikander showing up on the casting page (unexpectedly) but they are each listed to be playing Hawkgirl and Hawkman!? Is this a mistake? Well, there’s two possible mistakes; someone F#$^# up and spoiled a secret of the movie, or, they are really just not supposed to be there. Personally, I would guess it’s the former. If this IS true, then my biggest support for the casting choice! I think they would make excellent additions to the DCEU. Or, whatever it’s being called now! For those who don’t know, Hawkgirl and Hawkman are two winged warriors that have been living multiple reincarnated lives. In each life they find their way to each other and awaken their memories. Well, at least that’s the route Legends of Tomorrow went with. …
