First Images of ‘DUNE’ Surface

Do you miss Game of Thrones (when it was good)? Do you miss Star Wars? Do you have no idea what the F*** Dune is? Well gather around because we have some stuff to talk to about! What is it?: Dune is the OG sci-fi story written by author Frank Herbert and published back in 1965. It follows the young Paul of House Atreides (yes, there’s some house drama in this as well) as he and his family are relocated to the desert planet of Arrakis to oversee the mining efforts of an invaluable commodity known as the spice melange. The issue? This planet is DRY, infested with giant sand-worms that guard the spice deposits, inhabited by a (potentially?) hostile  warrior civilization known as the Freman, and oh, yes, the whole thing is likely a plot to have Paul and his family killed. Yes, this s*** is a setup. What seems like a spoiler for the book is actually just a very basic layout of where the story picks up. In truth the over 800 …

Halle Bailey is “Under the Sea” as Ariel

oooooo the internet is going to have a field day with this one! Yes, The Grown-ish star has been officially cast to lead Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid as the princess Ariel. I know there are trolls that are going to hate this and I’m sure as I type this Twitter is being showered with haterade. Me? oh this put a smile on my face. I am so happy for Halle Bailey and even more excited for little boys and girls to see this depiction of Ariel. I don’t have much else to say about this other than to express my excitement. Our lead will be joining Melissa Mcarthy’s Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle(!!!!!), and Jacob Tremblay as Flounder. No word yet on who will be playing Prince Eric but I am HOPING they go with a nice handsome Mexican; let’s really punk the racists with this casting. Lastly, yes, I have been listening to “Under the Sea” for this entire entry. Thank you.

‘West Side Story’ First Image

IT’S HAPPENING. F$#^ It’s happening! Stay calm! We have our FIRST look at the Jets and the Sharks from Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.  I have been low-key (but actually very high-key) super excited for this movie. First of all, Spielberg is directing it. Second, I’m a sucker for Romeo and Juliet. It’s one of my favorite plays of all time. Third, we are getting an actual latina to play Maria. You might be thinking, why wouldn’t a latin young woman play Maria, a girl from Puerto Rico, in the original movie? My answer? I DON’T KNOW! Racism?! The first West Side Story which released in 1961 had Natalie Wood play the leading role. If my memory serves me correctly, Rita Morena (an EGOT holder and a F#$^# legend) auditioned for the role but was denied. Of course, it worked out I suppose since she took home the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role as Anita (and my favorite character in the play). Now, our new Maria, Rachel Zegler is half Colombian and half …

Robert Pattinson is Batman

Look, it’s fine. It’s Fine! Did all my God given senses erupt unanimously in a vibration of ‘NO!’? Damn sure did. Then, I let it register and remembered we’ve done this too many F$#^$# times and we got to learn eventually. People were upset when Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman, when Ben Affleck got Batman, and more examples I just can’t recall. The point is, we’re going to be just fine. At the end of the day what really matters is the quality of that script and Matt Reeves vision. In my opinion Ben Affleck wasn’t just a good Batman but he was the BEST Bruce Wayne we have ever gotten.  That didn’t save him though! We never really got to see the full potential of the Batman and that will always suck. Twilight here might be able to take the character and do some good stuff with it. Let’s give him a fair shot. NOW, I’m going to need him to gain at least twenty pounds of muscle and change that hair …
