‘Blade’ Making His Return In the MCU

My nerd brain is going to explode. I cannot keep up! Ok, ok… Yesterday at Hall H we got a mic drop coming out of nowhere; Mahershala Ali has been cast to play Blade in the MCU for a phase 5 film. I. Cannot. Someone get the holy water because I have been TOUCHED. This is yet another casting announcement that has me scratching my head; why didn’t any of us see this before!? Well, I’m glad that Kevin Feige did! Though I too was on board for Wesley Snipes to reprise his role, I can  think of no one better to take it on moving forward. What an EXCELLENT way to end the panel for Marvel. There is no announcement for a release date. However, with Disney Expo coming next month, I’m sure we will be getting a more detailed release schedule as well as more big casting announcements.

‘The Fantastic Four’ Officially Confirmed For MCU

There is so much to cover from this years Comic-con! I will do my best to keep up. First, I think it’s only right to talk about the first family of superheroes- the Fantastic Four. Yes, Kevin Feige, after dropping some major bombs, decided to casually confirm that the heroes WILL be joining the MCU after phase 4. Now, though this might make people upset, the truth is that this will be the shortest phase yet? Yes, phase four seems to conclude with the upcoming Thor film (article coming later) just a mere two years from now. Casting: There is no news regarding casting for the upcoming film. Perhaps at next month’s Disney Expo we can expect to get some more bomb drops like the Blade casting (yup, another article coming on that as well). Personally, just like the rest of the internet, I am really hoping for John Krasinski and partner Emily Blunt to be cast in the roles of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. To me they are a similar case as …

‘Young Justice’ and the Mystery of the Token Gay Character

Young Justice has returned for the second half of its third season over on DC Universe. While I’m enjoying the plot unfold and getting to see more familiar faces for the DC world make their series debut, I am still caught up on trying to figure out just WHO the show-runners were referring to when they said, “gay characters have always been present on the team.” I blogged about this during the first half of the season. Though I haven’t posted reviews for the latest episodes, they did provide more information for who could and couldn’t be ruled out. So, let’s take it from the top people! Team roll call! Just like last time, since Weisman said the character(s) have been present since the end of season two, we will omit the mention of any outsiders or others brought on since the beginning of the current season. S1 characters Nightwing- No. He is very much with Barbara Gordon. Superboy- He is engaged to Miss Martian Miss Martian- ditto Kid Flash- Dead and was with Artemis …

Does the MCU Need the Multiverse to Bring the Mutants?

For those that have seen the most recent trailer for Spiderman: Far From Home you may have noticed the mention of one of the most geek fueled terms in all of comics. Yes, I’m talking about the MULTIVERSE. For those unfamiliar, this refers to the concept that our known universe is just one of an infinite amount! Each universe can contain replicas of us but never/not always identical in personality/story. For example, there can be a universe where the nazis won World War II. There could also be a universe where Gwen Stacie got bit by a radioactive spider and not Peter Parker. The possibilities are endless! Some people believe that this will be how the X-Men are brought into the MCU. This could be the case but in my opinion, I don’t think it’s necessary. Let’s look at the FACTS people! The Avengers Arrive: Unless you’ve lived under a rock you know that the original Avengers to fight Loki in 2011 were Ironman, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Hulk. Ironman has no …
