Episode 72 – The Not So Lost Episode

Welcome back everyone! So as we’ve mentioned before, we had an episode of the pod that was recorded MONTHS ago but we thought was lost due to technical issues. In a fortunate turn of events, we were able to salvage the episode and give it to you all! In this episode, we discussed James Cameron’s ‘The Terminator’ franchise in all good, bad, and ugly glory. Join us for that and much more! Listen here: You can also stream the episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Google Podcasts.

‘The New Mutants’ Being Left Out to Die

Many of us have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Josh Boone’s The New Mutants to finally release. However, we had no idea it would be like this… A theatrical date was finally scheduled for August 28 but it was assumed that New Mutants, like many other films, would continue to get postponed due to Covid-19. Nope. Unlike Mulan, Tenet, Black Widow, and Wonder Woman 1984 Boone’s film is being made to walk the box office plank as no adjustments were made to it’s release just a few days away. Not only will the movie have an awkward debut that many won’t be able to attend/will be unwilling to attend but it has been stated that some critics have not even had the chance to prescreen the film to provide reviews… What the hell? Clearly, Disney is trying to take Covid-19 as a blessing as it’s allowing them to release this movie with no prospects for success. Why this is a positive for the studio is because it allows them to get rid of the …

‘The Flash’ Suit Concept Art Revealed

I can’t continue touching on everything from Fandome without commenting on the concept art revealed by Anthony Muschietti. It was the only big reveal from the brief Flash panel but f*** it- I’m excited! Snyder’s suit for The Flash in Justice League was fine. I think it was a cool idea to incorporate a more metalic look for the character. Though just as Aquaman passed over to James Wan, opening the door for a different (more comics accurate) look, there was no doubt that Muschietti was going to get the opportunity to bring the character to life in his own way. From what we see in the concept I think it’s safe to say that he’s getting his inspiration from the New 52 suit. You can see alot of the same elements with the lines and how the lightning radiates off of him. Also, we need to note, the lightning is yellow! It is yellow ladies and gentlemen!   This might be a reach, but bare with me. It was revealed last year that there …

Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ Trailer Breakdown; Clearly a Different Movie

A highly anticpated piece to yesterday’s DC Fandome was the Snyder Cut panel. We knew beforehand that not only would the director be addressing important elements of the project (such as confirming it will be cut into four episodes releasing weekly) but that we would also be getting our first trailer. Let’s break it down. 1.Darkseid: Snyder wastes no time with this thing! Right out of the gates we get our first shot, clear as crystal, of Snyder’s Darkseid; ruler of the planet Apokolips. Though he is not the principal villain of the movie it was rumored for ages that the iconic character was always set to appear in the project to some capacity. Will he only be featured in flashbacks, will he make small appearences throughout, or is Snyder hoping to add more sequences with the character? Snyder’s cut of the film will not just be a complete telling of what he originally envisioned but will also be the “audition” with audiences to potentially greenlight the second Justice League film he was originally slated to …

‘The Batman’ Trailer; TAS Feels and Joker Crossover?

DC Fandome was full of so much content! I will do my best to address everything that was revealed, but I thought the best place to start would be with the teaser for Matt Reeves’  The Batman. 1992 Animated Series Vibes: From set photos we knew that the film was being shot on location in Liverpool; a city with beautiful gothic architecture. Tonight Reeves revealed that the Gotham he is creating will have the beauty and unique feel of Liverpool while alos utilizing CG to expand on the Gotham he is creating. Seeing Gordon walk into that crime scene, hearing ‘Something in the Way’ by Nirvana, a 1991 track, and taking in the aesthetic of the trailer made me feel that the film is touching on the elements that made the animated series so visually special. I’m very much on board! Joker Crossover?: After watching The Joker I suspected that there could be room for that version of the character, portrayed in the late 70’s, to crossover with Matt Reeves’ version of Batman. Though there have …
