Episode 64 – Big Pussy Gets Popped

We are back, and this week we are once again giving you an episode that has absolutely nothing to do with what we said last week. That’s the couch for you! On this special episode we dive into HBO’s The Sopranos. Join us as we hit season highlights, episodes we considered series defining, the controversial?, epic?, perfect? series finale, and more of Gab’s existential rants inspired by one of the best shows in television history. Stream the episode on Spotify below, Apple Podcasts, or Google Podcasts.

Episode 63 – The Gaypisode Deux

Welcome back to the couch! As it is pride month we decided to, you guessed it, have our Gaypisode part deux! This week we’re taking a look at the Disney+ animated short, “Out” (0:03:50), the French film “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” (0:17:00), the 1970s film adaptation of “The Boys in the Band” (0:37:30), and lastly, trying our best to end on a light note,  we talk about  the hilarious “Bird Cage” (01:06:20) starring Robin Williams (RIP) and Nathan Lane. Episode 62 – Doing The Right Thing

Here at the 17 Waverly Podcast we know that to be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter. So, as the messiest film/tv podcast you have never heard of, we wanted to dedicate this episode to appreciate excellent Black films and performances. Join us as we talk about 1965’s ‘A Patch of Blue’ starring Academy Award winner Sidney Poitier (0:03:15), the 2018 excellent adaptation of James Baldwin’s ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ (0:22:00) , Spike Lee’s ‘Malcolm X’ (he inspired Magneto never forget it)(0:40:15) and finally, Spike’s iconic 1989 film (which clearly has not aged at all) ‘Do the Right Thing’ (0:54:20).
